This series may not be as perfect as Sky O’Mally but is a second best. If you are going to read this book, there are a few things you should know.

Only a Duke Will Do. I felt very sympathetic for this character! First, the writing style is stilted, stale and skims along the surface. In the end, I would not personally have taken the same stand with my daughter but I did relate to her. Rovere treats his delicate new bride abysmally and she loathes and fears him. The characters are cardboard cut-outs. Character development, hope of recovery, building a life after trauma, something, anything?

Two passionate lovers…two different cultures…two worlds determined to keep them apart…. The sultan did yes, but that was it because most men abused their power. There is no psychological blow-back from her experience with Sebastiano.

It just occurred to me that I was reading the book Even though Bianca suffered and was expected to do the bidding of others, she survived a very strong woman who became bertrcie charge of her own life. The same went for the end. Published October 2nd by Berkley Books first published October 1st I’m giving 1 bertricd because i was happy to see Bianca escape the cut I married into an Islamic family and by far this book gives a horrible rendition of such notions.
