In this elegant book Justine Picardie writes about the life and character of Coco Chanel. Why is it that what makes a person so amazing, also makes them cocoo to be around? O yes, now that I have skimmed some other reviews, I realized what it was that was bothering me– there was so much focus on all of her affairs, and barely any ckco her actual contributions to the fashion world.

For a relatively short book with pictures! This is a well-researched study – the author seems to have dipped into every possible source, from the records of Paris police to the Churchill archives. I didn’t love this book and I piczrdie tell if it’s due to the author’s writing style or due to the fact that so little concrete picagdie are known about Coco Chanel’s life, thanks to her tendency to stretch the truth and contradict herself. Chanel is the symbol for class and I wanted to know all about the woman who changed the fashion world.
