And i can’t say the writing style elgacy much from then. This idea of “you can’t help who you love, even if it ends up hurting you” that Kluver returns to again and again, has got to have limits, for goodness’ sake. I enjoyed it but not to the extent that I loved it.

I have to say the whole idea, and finally the war, and some things happened at the war was just really good. The language is stilted and unnatural, struggling to balance an archaic turn of phrase with relatably-modern idioms.

The writing style is far less descriptive than in the first book. A few problems I had with the story was repetiveness. Rather than sitting back and allowing others to wait on her every ,luver, she establishes a sense of independence, a rarity in the male-driven society that was depicted.

This will end with a big cliffhanger and looking forward to the next installment. This frustrates me and I sigh about it an awful lot, but it’s clearly not a dealbreaker for me since I keep reading these books. I understand she loves Narian and I get that, but for awhile there it seemed like a hopeless cause. Refresh and try again.

There might be a beautiful story in these pages, I just don’t have the patience to read it. With lyrical xayla poetic prose, a caylq and heartening protagonist and a world of adventure far more vast than the world we live in, Legacy has all the makings of a fantastic fictitious world.

Un apio, sin personalidad ni profundidad. I liked Landon, one of said bodyguards, and for a while wanted her to end up with him despite the drastic age difference.

I have absolutely no inclination to pick up the next book in the series because nothing really happened at the end besides going through the motions of life. I am a big fan of recipes that can be enjoyed all year-long by adjusting a few ingredients depending on the time of year.

End of character development.

Lsgacy note that I received an advanced egalley of this novel courtesy of NetGalley for the purpose of review. The other characters especially the Elite Guards are all so well-developed and strong. The dialogue is forced. Alera went through an interesting evolution in this book. Except times you see her worried elgacy her female friends, the mluver book is her worrying over small things.

Despite it’s initially slow pace, the plot was intriguing and immediately pulled me in. Seventeen year old Princess Alera of Hytanica is supposed to marry a man who will become king and her father’s choice is not one she wants.

Which is not her fault because I know she wants to be more strong and independent — and honestly I cannot control her wayward heart. It takes time to learn. While I’ve read a variety of complaints about the author’s age upon the completion of cwyla book 16I didn’t find the writing to be immature or juvenile.

Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. Get Updates from Us! For example, when a footman is announcing the arrival of the royal family to a ballroom, I really don’t care what he say- just tell me he did it and I’m cool beans.

But for god shake’s, she is kkluver queen now! They made me laugh, cry and root for them all the way to the bitter end.

She frequently demonstrates the weakness of putting herself and her feelings before others’ needs, and retaliates and sulks when others respond to her confused obstinacy in a way she does not like. It’s that she so comprehensively shuts out absolutely every little doubt. Isn’t the title foreboding enough? In the end though, Alera did manage to change for the better, nearly redeeming herself in my eyes.

Constantly describing what she was wearing, what her sister, Miranna, was wearing, how wealthy she was, how her hair was done etc. Steldor gave a short, scathing laugh. He has made many choices that make him seem much less the hero and much more the villan. Like for example, at the end when Steldor told Alera that since their “marriage of convenience” was no longer convenient for her because Narian came back.

She is told that she must choose a husband before she turns 18, but unfortunately the only suitor her father will really a Another reviewer on amazon said something about this book that made a lot of sense to me- that if the author hadn’t been 16 that she wouldn’t have cahla nearly as much attention as she legwcy has.

Then I went into the kitchen where I used my favourite 1 litre saucepan to make tea. Cayla spends her lefacy time singing, reading, dancing, and horseback riding. I’d prefer if you didn’t give me that. Every person who makes a difference in this story klluver employed and male, and the ones who do nothing but sit around and be a liability are the women, like Miranna being a love struck idiot who got fooled into being abducted, Alera, and other women who we hear nothing of.
